Description
Today, the Church of San Giacomo, with the annexed monastery, is home to CEDRAV.
The façade, corresponding to the left wall of the nave, is embellished by a pointed-arch portal.
Inside, on the left wall, Visitation of 1573, canvas by Camillo Angelucci from Mevale, belonging to one of the most important dynasties of painters of Valnerina; considerable canvases of the 17th century depicting St Benedict and St. Scolastica, Saints Michael Archangel, James and Filippo Neri. Three walls preserve a good part of the fresco decoration of the 15th century. Some of them, which can be dated to around the mid 15th century, seem similar to the frescoes of Santa Maria in Vallo di Nera, connected to the style of the Master from Eggi. To the right of the door which leads to a small adjacent space, Christ in glory with Angels bearing the symbols of the passion and St. Michael Archangel and praying figures of the 15th century. In the small area to the right, frescoes of the late 14th century: Stories of the passion; St. Catherine and holy martyr of good quality and all by a single author.
In the monastery, in a room on the lower level, Final Judgement with Christ judge inside an aureola; Mary, the Apostles on the condemned and the commissioning party, fresco of the first half of the 15th century.
